Slab Finishing Services

We transforming raw wood slabs into stunning tables, countertops, or unique furniture pieces.

Flattening

Natural wood often have irregularities, twists, and warps, but these features also make each slab different. We flatten the slabs to add stability while preserving its character.

Epoxy Filling

We fill the voids, cracks, and knots with epoxy resin. We can add colour pigments to enhance the character of the slabs as well. Properly executed epoxy fills prevent moisture penetration and help stabilize the slab.

Sanding

We use several grits of sandpaper to provide both a smooth and protective finish. We believe 180 or 220 grit sandpaper achieves these results. We also wet the surface in order to raise the grain before our finial sand.

Finishing

Our product of choice is Rubio Monocoat when it comes to finishing our products. However, we can provide polyurethane, shellac, and other finishing upon request.
